Every time you need support, it becomes yours to handle alone.
Making you carry your needs alone
This is a repeated pattern in which ordinary requests for care, clarity or support are turned into evidence that you are needy, demanding or difficult.
The request becomes the problem. Instead of discussing what you asked for, the conversation turns to whether you should have needed it or asked at all.
You may rehearse requests, soften them, apologize for needing something or wait for the perfect moment to ask. Over time, taking care of everything alone may begin to feel easier than bringing another need forward.
No one can meet every need. People can say no, set limits, need more time or honestly lack capacity. The distinction is whether a limit can be communicated without shaming you for having the need—and whether your request can remain part of the conversation.
You do not need to decide what it is. You can note the date and what happened, and read it back later.
One moment rarely tells the whole story. Look at what repeats over time—and what happens when harm, disagreement or a boundary is named.
