“I’ve never felt this way about anyone.”
Love bombing
Love bombing is an intense rush of attention, affection, promises or future plans that creates closeness before there has been enough time to assess the relationship.
The opening intensity becomes the reference point. When attention later changes or becomes conditional, the person receiving it may focus on recovering the earlier closeness instead of assessing what is happening now.
You may wonder what you did to cause the change, work harder to restore the beginning, or overlook pressure and inconsistency because the initial connection felt unusually certain or meaningful.
Enthusiasm, generosity and falling in love quickly are not automatically love bombing. Look at whether slowing down, keeping other relationships, maintaining privacy or changing your mind remains safe. Healthy excitement can adjust to your pace; a harmful pattern makes autonomy feel like a threat to the connection.
You do not need to decide what it is. You can note the date and what happened, and read it back later.
One moment rarely tells the whole story. Look at what repeats over time—and what happens when harm, disagreement or a boundary is named.
