They block the doorway. You stop trying to leave.
Intimidation, threats
Intimidation is conduct such as threats, shouting, threatening gestures, blocking movement or hitting nearby objects that makes possible harm part of another person’s decision.
The possibility of harm changes what can be said or refused before physical contact occurs. Compliance may be produced by what the person knows could happen next.
You may scan mood and movement, track exits, comply quickly, freeze or avoid subjects that could trigger another display. Your body may prepare for danger even when no new threat has been spoken.
Anger, raised emotion and firm boundaries are not automatically intimidation. The distinction is whether conduct communicates a threat, blocks freedom or makes fear the cost of disagreement. Threats and property violence are serious conduct and may be reportable even without physical injury.
You do not need to decide what it is. You can note the date and what happened, and read it back later.
One moment rarely tells the whole story. Look at what repeats over time—and what happens when harm, disagreement or a boundary is named.
